about

Another in a series of tracks recorded and produced in the Spring to Summer 2011. Dedicated to our Sun. Who doesn't like the Sun? Even if you don't your existence depends on it either way. There is acknowledgement of the failed flight of Icarus representing hubris but also other symbolism like the moth being drawn to a flame, so are we who lay willingly in the path of the Sun on the Beach for example knowing it's effects can potentially kill us as well. The flame offers many risks as it rewards. This musical piece is somewhat of a down tempo ambient piece reminiscent of Chill Outs gone by.

For those keeping score the song was originally written on the Korg M50 using the Combi called "Towards The Sun" which is the first Combi called up when you load the companion software KARMA M50 from Karma Labs. The Combi is heavily tweaked for the "Jon Johnson sound". The mixdown from the M50 was then imported into the Korg OASYS for further processing then sent into my DAW where solos from my Korg Porphecy were added as well as the voices.
